El Palo Santo
En mi pueblo un "palo santo" es un "kakero", es decir el árbol de kakis. Para Elton hice un frutero con "palo santo", sin kakis pero con manzanas.

La pieza gigante de Salt. Un trabajo hecho entre muchos.

Una pequeña pieza nueva en Salt, el "tasjetela" ya tiene dueño.
Y una preciosa exposición de trabajos con fibra vegetal hechos por artesanos de Uganda. La exposición está organizada y compuesta por Jette Mellgren quién también ha editado el libro "Flettekultur i Uganda" sobre Uganda, sus habitantes y sus historias impresionantes y con algunas técnicas de trenzados de ahí.
There was also a beautiful exhibition about crafts with vegetal fibers from people of Uganda. The exhibition was curated by Jette Mellgren who also published the book "Flettekultur i Uganda". The book tells about Uganda and its inhabitants with impressive stories about their lives and explains plaiting techniques from there.

funda con botellita de engrasar
Julio, un alumno de mi taller de esparto en Chelva me trajo esta extraña funda de tijeras de poda con una botellita de engrasar incorporada. Está hecha de trenza de cinco ramales y la botella es de cristal. Supongo que había un pincel fijado al tapón porque la botellita no se puede soltar. El tapón actual no es el original. La corea tampoco, lo puso Julio, era de esparto pero muy estropeado.
Julio, who attends my workshop in Chelva brought me this curious sleeve, probably for some pruning scissors. It´s made with a five string plait and it has a little bottle incorporated for oiling the scissors. Probably there was a pincel attached to the cap, because you cannot remove the bottle. This cap is not original neither is the leather band. These have been replaced by Julio because the original band, made of esparto, was in a very bad state.
